Thank you for considering me as your event photographer. Here is a collection of some of the sports/action work I have done, and some event coverage style images as well. I love capturing images that bring you into the moment and give you a sense of being there. Feel free to explore the rest of my site to see more of my work.

All the best, Jay

I Love capturing spontaneous moments. Street photography is a great genre for this, as is event coverage style work. The Tea Party and Bif Naked concerts were events I attended and the last image was a “busker” playing out of his van one evening in Nelson. He was a fantastic player, and the whole dark street vibe just spoke to me. He was gracious enough to let me capture the moment in a photograph.

This shoot was a fun project. Hannah and her dad backcountry ski together, and she didn’t want a traditional “Grad Shoot”. Her mom reached out to me and wondered if I had any idea’s, so I took her and her dad out ski touring for a day and turned it into a ski touring grad shoot! These are some of the images we captured.

Backcountry skiing is one of my passions. I don’t get a lot of opportunity to shoot skiing because 1) I’m busy skiing ;) 2) My friends are too busy skiing to let me play photographer ha ha ha. But when my partners are willing to do photos it’s a blast!

Some photos take a little more work than others. Most of us only see the magazine cover, and revel in the skill of the athlete and photographer. What we don’t see is the sometimes hours or days that go into making those shots. My buddy Johnny was as determined as I was to capture this image….after a few not so successful attempts…..WE NAILED IT!

BOOM!

One of my favorite sports to shoot, is the okanagan kiteboarders. Not only are they a great bunch of people, they are so dynamic, and the wind usually picks up late in the day when the light is great. WIN WIN WIN. I am a featured photographer on the Okanagan Kitebording and Windsurfing website. Here are some of my favorites.
